Let's hope so I would really hate to see the likes of Westermann and Huth against Azerbaijan and Russia. Friedrich would probably injure himself before or during the way there.

I think Özil has improved his probability to be selected as well. Defending corners has been woeful indeed - by the high standards of this defense - and that's were England are particularly dangerous. But that is something you can work on, even within a few days.

I hope we win, but even though England is nto the complete package either if we fall asleep like we have in the first halves of every game so far then we'll be in trouble. We have been lucky that despite the number of corners and set-pieces we have conceded we've only allowed one ball to go in.

Most importantly win or lose I hope we do integrate Neuer, Höwedes,
Boateng and a lesser probability now Özil and Marin for 2010. Beck is already there and Khedira is no worse than Hitzlsperger. I think still that the only way the stubbourn Bundestrainer will be connived is we win resoundingly over England.

Özil has been played out of position by Hrubesch so he doesn't really get the chance to play the killer pass. He's absolutely capable of that. He managed 23 assists in 47 games for Werder Bremen last season. Kroos will play in the U20 World Cup instead so wasn't chosen for the U21 and has hardly featured in that side so far anyway. And in case of Kroos it's still 90% hype and 10% substance: Kroos played 21 games for Bayer/Bayern last season and managed 2 assists. Kroos obviously has the potential to be a great player, but no need to write off Marin and Özil based on one U21 tournament and keep glorifying Kroos for one U17 tournament.

Ozil and Marin have been dissapointing. They are too individualistic and aren't goal threats. Kroos in the team would have helped. He's the only midfield talent Germany have that can make killer passes and score goals. Hoewedes and Boateng look really good. Better than the clumsy senior defenders.
