Photo of the Day: FIFA 09 (PS3/PAL/GER)

If you are always on the hunt for rare German national team collectibles, I strongly recommend you try and get a copy of the German edition of FIFA 09 with Kevin Kuranyi as cover boy. I already ordered my copy, which will receive a place of honor right beside my copy of last year’s German edition of Pro Evolution Soccer with Jan Schlaudraff in a Bayern Munich jersey on the cover. Marketing video games in Germany ain’t easy…

Boo-hoo, Jan. The Playstation I know is the portable version. Or actually PSP (because my younger brother plays that in his spare time). Not sure what he plays on the PSP though.
Anyhow, you wouldn’t want to know the FIFA version I used to play when I was still very young. But then again, even I myself had forgotten the version and what was on the cover. I used to play it on a Sega game console (I forgot the model). This is actually many years ago.
There was a period of time when back then my younger brother and I like to challenge each other at penalty shootouts. And I lost to him most of the time. Still get ‘pissed’ whenever I think about it.
And for the record, the console had been um, abandoned for some years now.
Ah, those were the days when my brother and I can play on the game console until very late into the night (this always happens whenever there’s the school holidays). Well oh well, I just considered it to be part of my childhood days then.

Why? Just curious over there.

EA games are not that good, if you take a look to Fifa 07, 08 and now Fifa 09 you see the same game with a Little bit of modifications.

Because Kevin Kuranyi has been kicked out of the national team and because Jan Schlaudraff only ever saw Bayern Munich’s bench. In other words: I was joking. So hopefully no one accuses me of surreptitious advertising for football video games now. ![]()

Why on earth would EA want Kuryani on the cover anyway? I mean you can put half the national team on before you think of Kuryani. Must have been cheaper.
I hear Ballack is injured again, that is not so funny. That means wasteful Hitzlsperger is on for sure. Gomez also had a scare so Helmes has his chance. This is the last important game of the year. Jogi can experiment all he wants with player development against England.

Jan, LOL.
I was thinking of the bureaucratic stuff actually!
And speaking on the Kuranyi issue…it has really kind of worn me out. I even had to find myself explaining to my father what really happened. But then again, I was the only one in my family who watched the Germany-Russia match. I am the only one in my family who supports the German national team. Whatever happened to Kuranyi had made it to the TV here. On Eurosportnews and our local version of ESPN Sportscenter (we actually get the Asian feed) I was like ‘Argh!’ in my head when I saw the reports.

Nick, didn’t saw your comment until now. According to what I found, it said that he’s an injury doubt for the Wales match.

whos idea was it to put him on the cover anyways?
why not Gomez? or Klose? Schweini or Lahm.
Kuranyi is just not as big a name as them.

Funny to see Kuranyi in German colors for the game cover–after his AOL act during the Russia game, that’s one sight we wouldn’t see for a long, long time.
