Childrens Do Learn
In a recent interview with Kicker, Bundestrainer Jogi Löw revealed that Christoph Metzelder is still not match fit enough for the upcoming qualifiers. To this writer’s shock and amazement, Löw opinionated that Arne Friedrich will be considered as a central defender from now on. Maybe the fact that Friedrich normally plays in central defense for Hertha Berlin or the fact that Berlin are on top of the Bundesliga might have something to do with it? In any event, for the first time in a while we may have a solid back four. Things are looking up for the year.

Nick – I am a big fan of Friedrich so this pleases me a lot.

Me too, Angela.
But to be serious Nick, until I see something working on the pitch in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, whatever that comes out of the Bundestrainer’s mouth…I am not really going to take it seriously. Whatever that has happened in the last two matches has already got me jaded.

Are you sure it was not all Westermann’s doing?

Count me in as another fan of Friedrich. Metze/Mertesacker were a good pairing back in the day, but Loew needs to let go of the past.

Jogi is smarter than George Bush – hopefully.

Friedrich is popular with the ladies!
Well ladies, if Friedrich is benched in favor of Westermann I know won’t be the only one who will be cross.
