Tim Wiese’s Germany Career in Pictures
Following Rene Adler’s shoulder injury, Jogi Löw decided to call up Werder Bremen’s Tim Wiese and give him a “chance”. This is how it went for him…

He spent some time with Andreas Köpcke and Robert Enke during training…

..then he spent some time on the bench – around 90 minutes – during Germany’s friendly against Belgium.
And I’m led to believe that that was that for Tim Wiese’s Germany career. Which leaves us with the following list of potential Jens Lehmann successors:
Frank Rost
Tim Wiese
Roman Weidenfeller
Robert Enke
Timo Hildebrand
Michael Rensing
Manuel Neuer
Rene Adler

I see Roman Weidenfeller has not been struck off from your list, Jan. I was reading an article the day after Lehmann announced his retirement from the national team that Weidenfeller is aiming Jens’s former spot.

Weidenfeller would probably trip and hit his head on a locker on the day of his debut if he ever got a chance.

Diana: It’s hard to snatch the victory in “silliest goal allowed of the year” when a competitor has one go off the post, off the his own head and in, but Weidenfeller still managed to top that in my opinion last season. Now if I could only find a video of it. Plus, it’s always a wacky injury with him.
