Gomez is the most talented and the best german striker by far and not only because bayern payed 35 Million Euros. He is still young and has all skills to become a realy great player also on the internationale stage.

I think podolski will have a great year at home in Köln where ge gets the support he needs and Klose comming back we will have a really good number of strickers.

sadly the rest of the team isn´t that good

Hey all new to the blog, big Deutschland fan here. I’m not going to lie, I hated Gomez after the Euro’s. Hopefully he will start putting away chances like this and gets his club performances duplicated with the national team. Russia is right on our tails now, so lets hope the rest of the qualification is stress free.

Finland really imploded against Russia today. That leaves us all to do in Moscow then there is always the Azerbaijan SSR to deal with. Just watch Berti Vogts screw Germany up again.

That last goal was great. Perhaps now he can relax and find the mental space that allows him to feel so comfortable in the Bundesliga. Especially since he’s now a Bayern player, the fans will be counting on him to do club and country proud!

829 minutes. I had almost forgotten how many minutes Gomez has not scored for the national team. Not meaning in a bad way because I had almost lost count how many minutes had gone by in regards to how long has he not scored for the national team.

I only remembered the first thing I saw when I was looking at the teletext today and it reported Gomez ended his goal drought. Good that the drought is gone. Let’s hope that is the start of what’s to come for him in the national team.

Thanks for the videos Jan, by the way. This match and the one against China was not shown here, you know. In regards to Gomez’s fourth goal, that was from quite a tight angle.

I’m with Lissette and Abby on this one. This post is not about assessing the difficulty or quality of any of the four goals he scored or whether he is a quality player, it’s all about him getting rid of mental blocks and restoring self confidence.

When you are in the wrong frame of mind you miss an absolute sitter, like the one against Austria and when you’re relaxed and confident you score from a difficult angle like his fourth goal in the game against the Emirates.
