Granted, he generally performs well at the national level, but lately while he's had a few good games, it's nothing consistent at all. This is why I pick Klose over him. Klose may be missing goals, but he still provides chances for his teammates. For me, Podolski just hasn't shown any reason to really deserve a start for the National team. A sub maybe and then if he continues to show himself then sure, but I just don't know how he'll perform from one game to the next. Last match for Bayern there was a perfect opportunity for him to score and no reason that he shouldn't have but he couldn't follow through on a perfect pass from Schweini.
