Angela Merkel

German chancellor Angela Merkel had enough of the unconvincing performances of the German national team and decided to root for Oranje instead. Outrageously opportunistic but she’s a politician after all. Still, it’s such a shame, not just from a fashion perspective. And it doesn’t even qualify for our Euro 2008 Fake Photo Competition. Well, at least it’s not our Angela from the Germany blog – probably because Mark van Bommel hates van Basten.

At least Merkel likes offensive football. That’s a clear statement and of course she’s right. Yesterday’s match was very, very boring.
