Arminius, even his coach said that. They played with their hearts out. Slaven Bilic saying it’s like the ones who were part of the 1998 World Cup squad (which he’s part of) which beat the Germans then.
What Bilic said – http://www.fifa.com/confederationcup/news/newsid=800581.html#bilic+croatia+will+stay+focused

Well time will tell, men. But I think the Croats will go deep, but how deep I don’t know, haha.
Again, we must have some changes if we don’t want to replicate this lost again Croatia or whoever. I must say that, Loew, give Friedrich, Borowski, Hitz a chance and bench Fritz, Gomez plz. Maybe Gomez will have the motive only when he comes from the bench…

Austria got a penalty! Germany only needs a tie! They had better win though.

1-1 to Austria. It’s going to be really tight on Monday in Vienna…

They just need the first goal Monday, after that even a 95 minute equalizer couldn’t help Austria or Poland. So 1-1 was the best result for Germany. Hopefully Germany can cruise confidently through to meet Portugal.

we are the best, we will fuck anyone on the EURO!!!!!!!
CROATIA!!!
Fucking Germans 3:0 in Lyon, 2:1 now. Fucking pussies!!!

Friends & foes, beware! Germany has awaken…the giant of confidence…in all of Slaven’s men…Croatia will rock Euro inside out.

OMG…Germany lost! But hey it was only by one point!! Thats not that bad at all. Germany is a team that plays well as a team, their individuality lacks a little. Croatia was able to play well as a team and individually as well today. WHICH SUCKS…seriously what was up with Schweinsteiger and the red card. Why did he punch the croatian guy 2 minutes before the game?!? Shoul’ve done it at the half time (if he had to so badly) geeez…this whole thing reminds me of the 2006 World Cup game italy vs. france with the guy calling his mom something bad and the france guy kicking his face. But seriously Steinsweiger did kinda deserve a card but not the RED one,,,that was a little too much. Germany is usually AMAZING at beating these little migit countries but I dont know what was up with Ballack and his passing today! pretty bad…but hey GOOOOOO GERMANY!!!
Still love ‘em, always will! Go podolski and ballack!

hello from Croatia….
Great game, the Best ever….
Croatia wins Euro 2008….the time is come….WE ARE CHAMPIONS….
Damir, Daruvar, Croatia

And there I thought this was a site for German fans. I was wrong i suppose. Let’s put it like this: the Germans were in the worst shape they had been in a while, and Croatia couldn’t beat them by more than one point? Sad!!! You cannot expect to win the Euro like that.
The Germans played horrible. TRUE! It was a bad game, and a bad game that they will put behind, learn from it and aim high still. Discipline is one of their strongest characteristics and that will help them out.

by one point??? so what!! Everyone knows the score should of been like 4-1. Croatia missed some ridiculous chances.
We played with one forward. If we had our beloved eduardo, we would of done way WAY better. But still this wasnt croatias best performance I’ve seen them play way better then this. I knew it was a good idea to put Niko Kranjcar in the center. And have a great 4 man midfield behind him!
Anyway, Kranjcar ran 10,400 meters in this game. He ran the most of all players…

what are you talking about??? 4-1? croatia didnt do that well.
i just hope germany can pull it together for games to come, you cant win a championship playing like that.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR TO ALL OFF YOU WHO CAN’T ADMITT THAT CROATIA WON THIS GAME SO CLASSY AND SMOOTH AND THERE WASNT NO ACCIDENTS IN GERMAN PLAYING YESTERDAY, WE PLAYED A GREAT GAME AND WE GAVE OUR HEARTS IN THIS GAME FOR OUR COUNTRY AND WE HAVE NOW ALL TO BE PROUD OF !!!!!!!!!! SLAVEN BILIĆ, THE BEST COACH OF THE WORLD !!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHEERS TO HIM AND ALL OUR PLAYERS . C R O A T I A

Hehe, let the kid have his fun. Afterall Croatia did win against a strong opponent. Like I said in my previous post, Croatians are very unpredictable and they are a real nightmare for big teams, so don’t think Germany is a bad team just because they lost to a small country as Croatia. Croatia managed to surprise many big teams throughout the years and anyone who still doubts them obviously doesn’t know much about football. Let me refresh your memory a bit and remind you that great Italy lost 3/5 matches agaisnt Croatia and 2 times there was no winner. Croatia managed to beat teams like Argentina, England, Germany, Spain, etc. You have to take Croatia into consideration, because they will now avoid Portugal, which means they have a very good chance to make it into the semifinals and then anything is possible. And don’t forget that Germany never impressed in the first round and yet they always managed to go far, so I wouldn’t sign them off just because they lost to a team that is standardly a hard nut to crack.

Congrats to the Kroatian team. They’ve played well and deserved to win. And germany? It’s embarassing to see a team in such (relatively) easy poule play this bad and uninspired. The germans should not complain or feel self-pity. With (i believe) the largest population in Europe germany should at least be able to bring some creative players on the pitch. So far we only saw the running and complaining to the referee. Of course they’ll beat Austria, but there will not much te be proud off whan another small country (portugal) will show them what football is all about in the semi finals…

Prrfff…ROFL
Congrats to you for another useless comment.
Remember, the germans already showed portugal what soccer is all about.
Ricardo must be glad….he will not meet Schweinsteiger again.

Maerus you are right Croatia are a force to be reckoned with. They seemed to have inherited all the good stylistic parts of the former Yugoslavian team.
Schweni will be able to play against Portugal because all disciplinary actions are wiped after the group stage and he will only be benched for Austria anyway.
Ukraine is the most populous nation in Europe actually, and Germany will indeed show Portugal up with Schweni again. It is too bad Croatia can’t teach a lesson to the Netherlands, that will be Germany\s job in the finals.

mareus, i wouldnt say that a girl who’s 24 is a kid !

Deutschland UNTER alles…hahahahaha

I wouldn’t be laughing, Italy are very lucky to still be in it, and they still have to beat the French, Dutch, and Spanish to get to the final.

Let me tell you a golden rule. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE GERMANS. What if Germany and Croatia meet again in a more advanced stage of the tournament? Even if Germany do make it to meet Ronaldo and co does anyone think it would be a walk in the park for Portugal. When the group stage is over the game will change. Remember Greece and Italy won the last two major tournaments. Did they produce the best football? No they just would not let themselves be eliminated.

Thanks for the congrats Pruritus,
Yes let’s see Ronaldo and Schweinsteiger on the same pitch and see what football is all about…
