Gearing up for the first test

Jogi talks to Mario GomezThe 26 man Germany squad are currently training in Mallorca. On Tuesday, May 27, they will have a preliminary match against Belarus in Kaiserslautern. This will give Jogi a chance to test his team and have a better idea of which players will be nominated to the final 23 man squad on May 28th. Immediately after the game in Kaiserslautern, the team will fly back to Mallorca for the announcement from Jogi on which players will make the final cut. Michael Ballack will join the team on Monday after Chelsea’s loss in the Champion’s league.

Some members of the team are currently suffering with injuries. Keeper Rene Adler has a pelvic contusion, Philipp Lahm has a slight calf strain, Tim Borowski is still suffering with gastro-intestinal flu and Mario Gomez is having small muscle problems. Gomez and Lahm will surely be okay in time for the matches. I’m not sure what the recovery time is for Adler.

I don’t know if I’m right or not, but Gomez always gets injured at the incorrect moment~

It would seem that way wouldn’t it Harriet? He should be okay in time for the Euro’s though. Hopefully he’ll be fit enough to hit the game tomorrow.

Seeing Germany’s alternate uniform now being RED is absolutely hideous to say the least. What an eyesore ! They will never win another tournament unless they revert back to the tradional green alternate.

Will Italy ever adopt a red, or green alternate ? Never !

Stick to history Germany….
