Rest in Peace Robert Enke

Bernd Schneider Retires
When Franz Beckenbauer announced following the World Cup victory in 1990 that a united Germany would be unstoppable for years to come, he was as mistaken as Pele in his prediction. Aside from brief moments of hope in Euro ’92 and Euro ’96 the expected push coming from the integration of East German players never [...]
Picture of the Match
I think if you could see his face, the expression would eminate the body language and the feelings would be palpable. This was Bastian Schweinsteiger’s reaction after trying desperately to score without success. The next Captain in the making perhaps? I, personally, don’t think he’s ready to carry the burden on his own, but I [...]

Don’t mention the War. Sell it.
You have to give tabloids like Fakt or Super Express some credit, for trying their best to help us over the fact, that we’ll have to go through a whole tournament without England and without the English media (although I suspect they will still try their best to make themselves heard).

After nearly a year, the German National Team will welcome back their King. Michael Ballack will return to play next week in a friendly against Austria.
“We are very pleased that Michael is absolutely fit and that he’s coming back to the national team after such a long time,” coach Joachim Loew said Thursday in [...]
Germany vs Ireland
In normal circumstances Loew would not hesitate to nominate his preferred strikers in tandem before addressing the other issues involved in selecting his team for Miroslav Klose and and Lukas Podolski showed in last year’s World Cup finals that they are compatible, inventive in their play and good finishers. – From fai.ie
Loew has put of [...]
Ye olde rivalful: England – Germany
Allright, folks. It’s that special time of the year again. No. Not March Madness. No. Not Playoff Season. It’s the time of meaningless friendliess again. But this one ain’t so meaningless.
Statistically… the best team
You know an article is gonna turn sour when you read the introductional sentence starting with “Statistically…”. Hell yeah. This is gonna be one more not starting with it. But… Germany is the best team so far in this EURO 2008 qualifying. Even to me, this sounds odd. But even more surprising to me was the “HOW” of that fact.
