Will Ballack be Rested Against Ecuador?

June 19th, 2006 | By: Harvey Morrell | 18 Comments »

According to the headline from the following story he will be, but the text of the story indicates otherwise. Ballack out to avoid yellow peril. What do you think? I also don’t see much difference in playing Sweden or England; both will be tough opponents.

You don’t see much difference in England or Sweden? I pray we get Sweden – the English would be all giving 110% – something they very, very rarely do. The last time was that unfortunate night in Munchen, i believe.

In the knockout stages, every team will be giving their all, including Sweden. :)

I was in Munich for the 5-1 game. I remember the papers gloating that England’s hotel was in a loud part of town where they wouldn’t be able to get a good night’s sleep and that the German team was in the quiet country side. Did you know that the Germans scored the first goal in that game?

Come on Ecuador!

Sorry to say, but Germany does not have a chance this time. England and for sure Holland will beat them in later rounds.

As far as we saw till now i guess the german team is much much better than the english squad. The english looked very bad in the first two games as well as the swedish team so in this case i believe that the germans will win in the second round. Cheers!

The Germans are lazy and slow, I doubt they’ll score a single goal.
On the other hand, Ecuadorians know how to play and today they’ll kick the Krauts’ asses off the field.
Viva Ecuador!

No Ballack can’t rest. The German will desire to win this match to clinch the group seeding. They will try to avoid England at 1/16. I think England is the second candidade for the title.

That’s because the Krauts doped themselves with illegal amphetamines and cocaine. Sooner or later however they’ll get caught and they can definitely forget about reaching the semi-finals.

“There’s only one Michael Owen”

England has a tough road now. If they get past Ecuador they’ll have a tough time with the winner of match 52.
