Who will be the Best Young Player at the World Cup?

Ronaldo, Messi lead list of finalists. I’d vote for Messi – had he played I think Germany might not have made it to the semifinals.

even i’m a german, i have to go with messi, Phillip Lahm should be on the list instead of podolski, podolski is great player, but lahms performance just blew me away. look at him, hes young, he’s small, he looks like he’s still going to school, and he was a little handicaped throughout th etornament, but hes fast, he fights, he’s fearless and made a great goal vs. costa rica

Seems like you chose big names that we already know are good players, but aren’t you forgetting the crireria for selection. A player has to play more than 30min in a game and the amount of contributions he made and how many minutes in total. The conclusion is who played well in this tournament, not who we think is a good player. My vote goes to Valencia of Ecuador as he proved to be the best young player in this tournament.

Three Germans, Phillip Lahm, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski come to mind.

i have to mention David Odonkor, hell of a substitute

Arthur, I too liked David Odonkor, but did he play as much as 30 mins? It’s okay … watch him in the next four years. Odonkor will be big… Wonder if his father in Ghana knows about his son’s glory?

Yes… Odonkor. He’s an Olympic sprinter, right? 100m?

Well if Messi had played more than one game he might have made it. But for some reason the argentine coach didnt think of him as worthwile so i think Lukas Podolski was the right choice afterall. Odonkor might have been a hell of a substitute but he is just not as complete of a player as u could expect it fot this trophy. Philipp Lahm didnt meet the criteria because he was a little too old, otherwise it would have been him ;) .
