TSV 1860 on the brink of bankruptcy

April 24th, 2006 | By: Harvey Morrell | No Comments »

Reading different soccer blogs and come across this post (in German) on one of my favorite soccer blogs, Fan Faktor. Although my favorite team won 2:0 this weekend, putting them pretty much out of danger of relegation via their play on the field, the financial cloud they’ve been hanging under since the Wildmoser Affaere (a corruption scandal involving Karl-Heinz Wildmoser, erstwhile President of TSV 1860 during the building of the new Allianz Arena, site of the opening game for this year’s World Cup) may cost them their professional license. Needless to say, I’m not a happy camper.
