Shades of 2002?

March 20th, 2006 | By: Harvey Morrell | 4 Comments »

Looks like injuries are depleting the German national team. Very reminiscent of 2002 where injuries to several defensive players led to low expectations for the team. I wonder how much playing time Huth is actually going to get?

They’re really gonna miss Deisler, as they’re grooming him to replace Ballack over the next few years as the set-piece taker.

Stay tuned to my Korea blog for an article about their quarter-final matchup with Germany 4 years ago.

I watched that game last night (I have it on tape) with my daughter, who’s originally from Korea. She got a kick out of one of the US commentators blurting out, “He kicked him in the butt!” about 90 secords before Ballack scored the match winner.

Miss Deisler???..Grooming him???…when??…between his bouts of depression or during his many seatings at the sidelines during injury.

To say that Deisler is the future of Germany is absurd, seeing that he has not played a major tournament since Euro 2000.

Next you’re gonna tell me that Oliver Khan is a stable and charismatic guy.

Kahn might not be the most stable, but he is the most handsome. LOL
