For Best Actor in a Diving Film, the Prize Should Be a Card. Somehow, I doubt Sepp will agree.

I think the article is a bit harsh on Figo, but the concluding idea–a post-game panel of judges who’d penalize players for diving–is an excellent notion.

The US press should find out why neither Mr. Bush nor Mr. Blair have bothered to travel to Germany to support their respective teams.

I like the idea of a post-match video review. There’s nothing wrong with it. In fact, it is already being used – in a way.

Torsten Frings is under disciplinary review for actions after the Germany v Argentina match based on video footage. That’s just the most recent example.

Ulli,
Why should the media bother to find out what Pres. Bush and Prime Minister Blair did not show up in Germany?

Pres. Bush certainly saved our taxpayers a lot of money that would have been spent on the trip; and I doubt that his presence would have done anything to change the terrible tactics and form of the American players.
