Germany won’t be able to win.
Consider for example the
miserable performance against the Argentinians (who lost due to a biased referee) and especially against the Italians who were close to shooting 4 goals and made 2 perfect ones toward the end of the semi-final. With laziness and sloppiness, the Germans had no chance of winning the semi-finals… that was clear already during the first 15 minutes into the game.

Germany played an absolutely superb game with lovely goals by Schweinsteiger. Kahn showed us he still has some spunk. The ref was fair and seldom fell for any “fake” falls pleading for a penalty.
Ausgezeichnet Deutschland! Onward to Euros ‘08!!!

Excellent outing by the German team. It was also nice to see that the ref wasn’t buying the Portugese dives this game.

Thanx my neighbour friends for beating the Portugays..

can tell you that you won a lot of respect here in Holland the last 4 weeks,
think you have a stronger team than we do and i would not have said that at the beginning of the WC, nice pressing football, 4 defenders..will be interesting to see what you can achieve outside Germany..

a non-football coment: nice to see you guys can show and out the love you have for your country without feeling a burden and people whining about the war…(at least most)

Wow What a game !!!
Let loose the Germans and thay can destroy anybody. This is the experiance that Klinsman needed to make him a complete coach.
Germany a heroic team and a classy
WC host.
Disapointed with Serbian team but its nothing new.
Thank You cant wait for the finals

Yugo states:
“Let loose the Germans and thay can destroy anybody.”

Yeah right — we know that from both world wars.

Yugo also writes:
“Thank You cant wait for the finals.”

Dear Yugo, I don’t mean to embarrass you, but the Germans already lost during the semi-finals, so they’re not allowed to play the final match — which I think is great :-)

Silly, silly, Sep,
I think you are inefficient in your Math and very bitter and petty about events that occurred over 60 years ago.
Let’s see…FIFA 2006: 198 countries entered the draw for a series of qualification tournaments and play-offs. Only 32 nations teams qualified for the finals tournament.
Germany came in third. That is number 3 out of 32 qualified teams and 198 who attempted to qualify.
So you see, Germany did not lose the cup, they came in third. Perhaps you should go back to school and review your Math and a lesson in ethics wouldn’t hurt. :)

Dear Sepp,

I don’t mean to embarass you, but I believe Yugo is anticipating the final REGARDLESS of Germany not being in it. So please stop embarassing yourself when scanning people’s comments on something to use for some german bashing.

Sepp that was a very silly comment and truly uncalled for. Germany played a fantastic game of football, Must be one of the highest scoring games in the WC. They outplayed Portugal, they kept there heads and won. I say CONGRATULATIONS to the whole German team, Klinsman and the fans. With the talent you showed tonight on the field it is just a pity you where not in the finals. Go have a large beer guys you have earned it. I am an England supporter so I am happy, you did us a big favour. Enjoy your win and be merry. Anybody who has to come on this sight and bring up past history (re WW2) should be hung, drawn and quartered it is abusive and totally irrelevant to this blog.
These players were not even alive when that happened so Sepp you comments are pointless and should be kept to yourself.

Schweinsteiger was brilliant!
Kahn also played great, and Kehl played nice during the first half.
Lahm almost scored a goal himself — he’s my favorite player!
Portugal couldn’t make a thing to Kahn even though they could beat Germany’s defense without Mertesacker and Friedrich. They scored a goal in the last minutes, but that’s it!

I hope Klinsmann would still be coaching Germany next World Cup!
He’s likely to be like Beckenbauer to win the World Cup as both a player and a coach.

Sepp – you are retard, go away!

It is the first time that I respect Germany team. They showed a great footbal, very modern one. I think Germany is a team of future. Watch out for Germany in SA, I think we have a clear favorite to win it.

Good luck guys! And thanks for showing these cheating, and diving Portuguese what real footbal is about. Referee did very well, not to fall for any of C. Ronaldo cheap tricks. This was shame to watch, these guys are not even embarassed doing this constantly in every game :( (, Disgrace to footbal :(

A very memorable match for Oliver Kahn. He’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world… like Peter Scmeichel the great Dane.

Hope he will be of the goalkeeper trainers like Andreas Koepke.

Germany was the most impressive team in the whole WC…the two minutes left against Italy was really heartbreaking. The game against the dirty Portugal players was awesome. I think they should’ve been the team playing in the finals…they played the best fussball!! Go Deutchland in Euro 08

Little dissapointed for Germany’s luck in semifinal. Their last game against Portugal was worth for final game…
I’ve been supporting germany’s national team since the first time i had watching world cup final in 1986…
For Sepp…you know NOTHING about germany’s football..
Go go…Deutchsland..EURO 08 waiting for you to be the REAL CHAMPION, and then WC 2010 !!!
