Welsh, how do you know that the ECU lost on purpose? It appeared that they were not fighting but is there any real evidence?

I believe Sweden and England are equally tough to beat. So, I keep my fingers crossed for Germany. Keep up the good work.

Luxy Germany is a great team and they play a very exciting football, but about the ECU players appearing angry that's a natural reaction from the players. What do you expect if your coach told you before the game, don't try so hard we don't want to win this game. Of course you'll be angry at the same time lose all apetite for the game.
Don't get me wrong though, this German team is the favourite to win it all. The question is "is it a good idea that they play the swedes and ECU play england" mmm.. I don't have a good feeling about this, I would've prefered England, it seems that the ECU coach wants to meet England rather than Sweden, I would like to know the secret behind that plan!
Hope we will see some great games.

ecuador should have scored in the first minute. klosse is gonna take a lotta` stoppin`. it`s half time now, but i cant see ecuador scoring the way they keep giving the ball away, and dont get within shooting distance. good to see boots n` all advertised, g`day nick... i`m enjoying a aussie homebrew but i wish i was in berlin. prost...

At first I tot Ecuador is not easy to be defeated but after the first half match, I'm sure German will win this match!! I dunno wat happen to ECU but all I can see is ECU plays so rough and their face to fierce that seems like wanna kill people... It the ECU keeps playing like with the anger, they will lose this match.

I agree. I'd like to see some more quality shooting on net; like France, they won't always be able to thread the ball through the D.

Germany should not overestimate their strengths either: the attack we just saw, a lot of flailing in the box capped byb a shot by Klose that sang Icarus to the Berlin sunshine, reveals what worries Germany observers. The team has the power to score, but its opportunities depend on lax defenses, which every one of these teams in group A suffer from (Germany included). The Germans have yet to face the kind of defense they themselves were once famous for. That'll be the test of Klinsmann's offense.
