Kicker grades yesterday’s game

An interesting feature of Kicker online (and the print version) is the grades they give players after a game. Here are the grades for yesterday’s friendly (1=outstanding, 5=horrible – and don’t forget that Germans use a comma where in the U.S. they’d use a period/point):

Deutschland: Kahn (3,5) – A. Friedrich (4), Mertesacker (4,5), C. Metzelder (3), Lahm (3,5) – B. Schneider (4), Kehl (4) – Ballack (3) – Asamoah (5), Podolski (5), Klose (1,5)

USA: Keller (4) – Cherundolo (4), Conrad (5), Berhalter (5), Gibbs (5) – Zavagnin (4,5), Mastroeni (4) – Convey (3) – Wolff – Johnson (4), Ching (5)

Substitutes: 46. Schweinsteiger (2,5) für Podolski, 67. Borowski für B. Schneider, 67. Neuville für Asamoah, 83. F. Ernst für Kehl, 83. Owomoyela für A. Friedrich – 17. Klein (4,5) für Wolff, 60. Twellman (4,5) für Ching, 74. Olsen für Mastroeni, 76. Pearce für Gibbs

How could anyone give Schweinsteiger a 5? He was the difference maker the start of the second half. Kahn also was better than a 3.

Bob, they gave Schweinsteiger a 2.5, not a 5. (Germans for some odd reason use a comma where the U.S. uses a point/period)

I think I am still blind from live blogging. Those ratings make a lot more sense now. Cheers
