Germany confident before meeting Sweden

This is even though Sweden is one of few nations that has more wins than losses against three-time World Cup champion Germany.

I hope Germany wins….I had the opportunity to live there while the last world cup was on…I was impressed how even though the Germans lost to Brazil…they all went out and celebrated….I will never forget how I was running around screaming for Brazil….and the Germans embraced that…

I wish you the best Germany…you have a beautiful country, great culture, wonderful people…and a talented team!!!!

Germany needs to be careful against Sweden, they have some talent and are as tactically sound as any team in the tournament. They were unlucky against T&T, or it would likely be them playing Ecuador and Englad facing Germany. Still, I think Germany has the stuff to go well past Sweden this time… :)

I believe the Swedes will play their best “fussball” ever. Hope Germany will win. Nobdy expected them to advance. Now, Allemania, go all the way!

On Saturday Germanys defense will be testet. Freddy Ljungberg…I think Arne Friedrich is going to have problems. Any thoughts on this?

Sweden is always tough to play and even more to beat. Ask our english friends about the last 40 years.

Always a very well organized team good defense and their strickers are also very good ( at least on paper).

I really like Ljungberg and i also have my doubts if Friedrich can handle this. This could really cause problems given the fact that i do not believe that Friedrich is ina better from than he was at the beginning of the WC just because he archived to avoit huge mistakes in two matches.

If sweden wins i put on my swedish shirt and wave my swedish flag and call my swedish grandparents. Better we lose against sweden than any other team but hopefully i can wear my german shirt a little bit longer.

I think its a big big test of weak German deffance. If Zalatan manage to play against them its gonna be very deficult for Germany. I gass both times have 50-50 chances but germnay will be benifet from there home country croud advantage. I hope Sweds will make it !

Anybody noticed how well German defence has improved? The insecurities in the first match were a blessing because they taught Germany a lesson. And, naturally, they have been diligent and intelligent students …

Regarding the title “Sweden has more wins against Germany…”

Check your statistics - this is not the case.

My predictions:
Germany 2 - Sweden 0
Germany 2 - Argentina 1
Germany 3 - Brazil 2

*Note - I have watched the 2002 final match many times and Germany lacked the scoring touch but played well. I think they are better at scoring now than in 2002 so Brazil may have problems. Also, Pele himself was quoted on the Fifa site saying Germany will be a problem for any team.

If Pele says that Germany will be a problem then I would think Sweden should get the better of Germany. Ask Pele where Columbia is now.

I don“t know but Argentina was very very good in the first three matches. So i hav emy doubts if we can win against Argentina even with th ehome support and the improvements in our team we see at the moment and in the half final we could meet italy. We always have huge problems against italy.

So this year we will have avery tough road to the final and clearly would deserve th etitle if we reach it but everything can happen and there are enough teams that can make it into the final

Friedrichs not up to it, no way. Hes the major weak link in this side. I like Bastian Schweinsteiger’s idea - Lahm on the right, Michael Rensing (Bayern reserve keeper) on the left - apparently this is the drill in Bayerns training sessions!

Tremor, i like your optimism but i don’t think we have what it takes at the moment. If this was the Euros, maybe, but i think we get Argentina if we beat Sweden?
