German players or officials could also be punished over the fracas that followed the host team’s shootout win in the World Cup quarterfinals.

From what I’ve heard one of the german players called one of the Argentinian players ‘jew’ and that’s why they reacted so badly.

Please refrain from spreading such vicious rumours. The most unlikly name a German player is calling an opponent to offend in such an occasion is ‘JEW’ . Anything else one might say,but not this.

Some of the Argentinian players didn’t have the courtesy of loosing in grace, thus becoming an embarrassment for their country.

What are all the Austrians doing here spreading absurd conspiracy theories? Envious? But OK, if you feel better with spreading hatred, go on. Nobody minds this here in Germany, that’s for sure. We’re all here for celebrating.

Oh yeah, what a penalty that was… *rolleyes*

The Austrians are our tiny neighbors you know. They`ve got nothing to do with this games and have to hate us.

My apologies if that was not what it was said.
Just what some newspapers have published. My apologies if that wasn’t what happened.
Let’s leave it behind.

I just doubt that the Argentinian players would react that way without a reason.

Everyone here talks with respect about Germany.

Regards,
Julia

Hi,
I am from Argentina.
I wanted to say that I respect Germany totally, even though I’m sad that Argentina is out of the WC.

But I think that we’re confusing things.
We can’t judge a country, bring history in, judge their people, because of a football match.

I think a lot of people are generalizing, talking about the country’s history, its people and that’s not fair.

Let’s stop judging…
Both sides…

I respect German football and I congratulate them on their match on Fri and wish them luck,
and I also admire Argentinian football. There are so many good football players.

What happened at the end of the match I am in no position to give my opinion (as all Argentinian people) because we don’t know what happened there. So let’s stop making assumptions and judging so harshly.

My respect to everyone,

Maria.

PD: please don’t judge a nation and a nation’s history and its people because of a football match. It’s so limiting.

Lieber Dietmar,
ah, das sind ja ganz neue Töne. Er hat wohl beschlossen PC erstmal in der Schublade zu lassen. Sehr schön!
Komm, mach weiter, zeig dein Gesicht.
Ich soll dich doch ernst nehmen, oder?

all about the sad fact that the stronger team, Argentina is flying home because of BRIBERY and CORRUPTION.

it is not about sports.

@ Maria

I with you. I am getting fed up reading all this nonsense about racial and history being dragged into this tournament.

Let’s stick to football people! And have respect to others just as you respect yourself.

I think we should not post so many negative comments about our austrian friend here.

he is a austrian football fan that is punishement enough.

Thank you austria for introducing the faröer islands and other unknown tiny countries to us by losing against these huge football nations.

Why does there have to be so much controversy in what is supposed to be a world united event…Both teams played a good game, but unfortunately there had to be a losing team. Niether team would have taken the loss lightly, and how can you with so much heart and pride involved. The whole ‘jew’ thing is ridiculous, it’s an easy way to make German people look bad and kill momentum. Let’s focus on what we’re all in this for and that’s some good ol’ fussball! My hat off to Argentina for playing a great cup… GO GERMANY!!!

ARGENTINA IS SHAMEFUL AND DISGRACEFUL TEAM THAT HAD NO FACE TO KEEP AFTER THE LOSS. FROM NOW ON, THE DESPICABLE ARGENTINA WILL BE REGARDED AS JUST ANOTHER RUDE AND OBSCENE HIPANIC TEAM (E.G. MEXICO) THAT COMPENSATES THE LACK OF QUALITY BY BRUTALITY ON AND NOW OFF THE FIELD.

John, you’re a hopeless idiot and it’s brainless scum like you what make sensible people wanna vomit. You can be happy Italy won, but there’s absolutely no effin need to be a racist asshole.

I love watching a good game. the match between Germany and Argentina was very interesting. The latter turned out to be the stronger, unfortunately they lost to the determined slovak. Not the fault of the German team though. Sorry, heads they win tails you lose, Argentina.
