Germany

A little bit of patriotism

German president welcomes flag-waving. Heck, I’ve even got myself a German flag bumper sticker for my car.

Germany should be proud of the way it has conducted this World Cup, never mind the shadows. Let them have their fun.

Thanks for the cam link, Dietmar. I’m adding it to my German webcam bookmarks. Where in Germany were you born?

Roland – obviously I agree with you, :)

Germany should be proud of its heritage, industrial might, and its place as an outstanding member of the world economy. It’s debts are paid (most Germans were not even born before 1945). They should be as patriotic as any other country, and we are proud to have them as an ally and business partner. AND they play the game as it should be played, with heart and skill!

As an Ecuadorian born and US citizen raised in the US since a young age, I kindly remind those people that are trying to make a “nonsense” issue of the past, that this BLOG is about SOCCER and not about who did what to whom. Guys We all live here and let’s make this blog something to learn about our cultures in a positive way. SOCCER RULES!!! right guys?
As for the game tomorrow, what do you german fans think about it? Good luck to all.

“As for the game tomorrow, what do you german fans think about it? Good luck to all”

I think that germany will really try to win this match. given the fact that we are the host and the people want a victory and a good performance.

But i read that they want to change th eteam on several positions whatever that means.

Ecuador is the suprise of the cup at least for me. befor e the cup the media pointed out that ecuador plays very good at home because of the home adantage of playing at 3000m.

But the first two matches showed that ecuador is a very well organized pysical strong team that also has very good players.
So it will be a tough match in my oppinion.

But perhabs it will be a slow ugly match of two b teams that want to avoid injuries yellow cards…..

On topic, i bought my first ever DE flag this World Cup, i think there are many others like me, especially around my age. Its a good thing, but i would not to see it like in England with those ridiculous car-flags.

Nota bene: all off-topic trolling posts (and replies thereto) will be summarily deleted.

Frank, I think it’s going to be a tough, physical game either way. Let’s hope, for soccer’s sake, that both teams show up with their “A” game and give us some excitement.

Congratulations to Germany,

This has been an exciting world cup so far and thier is not too much negative news coming out of this tournament.

It shows that lots of hard work and preparations can go a long way.

Time to Make Friends indeed and of course promote the Game.

But in my heart Italy still rules albeit it is a bumpy ride so far.

Thanks Angelo. I’m sure that most US fans are hoping for a huge victory from Italy in their game against the Czech Republic.:)

yess…i am a U.S fan, and my dream would be the czech republic destroys Italy and then the US destroys Ghana…that way the US and Czech advance…i would just settle for the US advancing with Italy though.

Nick, wouldn’t it be more advantageous if Italy beat the Czech Republic? My understanding is for the USA to advance that they beat Ghana and Italy beat the CR?
